TIDY is designed to support whatever billing system you like, while trying to give you market feedback about how to optimize your rates and earnings. The best thing to do in most cases is get fantastic ratings and history first, then optimize your settings.
When you start, we default you to the median settings for Pros of your service type in your area. Rates and fees are all set to what the “average” person in your area offers. Once you prove to clients that you are “above average”, then you can likely tweak some settings.
Note: that anytime you change a setting, rate, or fee it:
So again, the key for most Pros is to understand their rates well before making changes, and ensure they have above average scores before making changes to increase their rates.
You can edit your pay rate anytime. If your rate is changed to above the maximum permitted by a client, you will automatically cancel on that client.
Changing your base rate up or down can affect your earnings, as you can get more or less cleanings depending on your quality score and your base rate. Clients typically choose pros with the best quality score for their budget.
Can I change rates on my current clients?
Yes, but you still have to follow any contractual arrangements. Most Pros have a 1 year price guarantee, and after 1 year, you can change it to whatever you and the client agree to.
You can set cancellation fees for your clients. The most common is charging 25% of the cost of the job for cancellations after your nightly cutoff, with booking protection enabled.
Clients can set cancellation fees for you. They are most commonly as listed in the app for your area.
Booking Protection is a benefit to both you and clients. Some clients require you to have booking enabled to accept their jobs. Many Pros like it because it helps them get full rate jobs instead of partial payments. You can disable it for jobs you select. For how Booking Protection works, click here.
