Job Names

Both pros and clients in TIDY have various controls over what they call services.

Currently, when a pro lists their services, they can create names with whatever they like. For example:

  • Bob's inspections
  • Ana's standard clean
  • Super deluxe cleaning

Each of these services may have different attributes, including:

  • How much time to block off on their calendar?
  • How is the job billed?
  • What should be done in the job itself?

When a property manager and a pro come to an agreement, they often have different names for this thing. Property managers often have their own name for services, such as:

  • Deep cleaning
  • Turnover
  • Refresh cleaning

With TIDY, by default we have a set of services that are generic, such as "1 hour cleaning" or "4 hour cleaning". These simply represent the amount of time blocked off on the pro's calendar, they don't represent any contractual change.

Both parties can rename the job to something that meets their needs.

If a pro adds a service, both parties can edit the name to what they like. Clients can edit the name of any job in the system.

Example

A property manager, Ana, works with both Bob and Charlie and other vendors. Ana calls an automatically booked turnover cleaning a "Standard Turnover Cleaning".

Bob calls this particular cleaning a "Full Cleaning".

Charlie calls the cleaning Ana needs a "Deluxe Clean".

In the My Pro Job section's Settings, Ana can see Bob's job called "Full Cleaning" and Charlie's "Deluxe Clean" and change it to "Standard Turnover Cleaning". This does not change what it is called for the pro (although they also see the name Ana uses for the job), but this updates it for Ana so the jobs she sees look consistently like what she wants.

If the pros want to change the name of their services, they can do so in their "Services" section. As long as they are editing the title (and not creating a new job type), Ana will continue to see "Standard Turnover Cleaning".
